If you love donkeys, then this is the place for you! Redwings Caldecott, near Great Yarmouth, offers visitors the chance to get up close and cuddly with 120 rescued horses, ponies and mules, including a herd of 30 lovable donkeys.
The centre is part of the UK’s largest horse sanctuary, Redwings Horse Sanctuary, and provides a safe haven its adorable residents, which also include gentle giant Shire Poppy and cheeky Shetland pony Sampson – and, best of all, it’s completely FREE!
After a relaxing stroll, you can put their feet up with a warm cuppa in the Nosebag Café and there’s an on-site gift shop offering a wide range of souvenirs. You might also like to sponsor one of the charity’s lovable Adoption Stars, either for yourself or as a thoughtful gift for a friend or loved one. A year’s adoption costs just £12.50!
Redwings Caldecott - a Visit England Quality Assured Attraction - also offers a schedule of family activities during the school holidays.
The centre is open all-year round every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from 10am to 4pm (closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). Entry and parking are free, and dogs on leads are welcome.
