What Causes Stress?

There are so many different causes for stress in our lives that are personal to us. Events, jobs, bosses, the economy, relationships, the news and the list goes on and on.

The good news for us is that we are in control of how we feel. Now I know we have events in life that are out of our control and can be very tragic. These events are dealt with when the time is right for us.

However in our day to day lives we can manage our stress levels. Here are some points to help:

Ask yourself, “What’s causing me to feel stressed and is it something I can change?” “Do I feel well and what can I do to feel even better? Can I join a gym, go for a walk, eat more sensibly?”

If you find yourself saying “I can’t, I should, I have to or it depends” then this normally means that there is some sort of belief that you have about yourself which is preventing you from doing what you want. This in turn creates stress.

If you change your thoughts you will change your behaviours and outcomes. You can do this by replacing the negatives with positives “I can, I will”

We all have a choice of how feel we want to feel. We are in control of our thoughts and actions. When we know how to manage this we can have the results we want.
