Welcome to our new blog all about The Chequers in Yelden. We've just had a fantastic Halloween party, lots of scary decorations and even scarier costumes, check out the pictures, recognise anyone, no me neither, not sure if some people look better dressed than normal! Rose produced a range of cocktails which went down a treat or trick if you looked at the colour of them; obviously a green drink isn't very appealing!

On Wednesday we had our usual Open Mic Night which welcomed a few new musicians. A couple of lovely blond ladies treated us to a few excellent songs and even a solo rendition of 'Somewhere over the Rainbow'. A young chap from Rushden blew us away with his singing and guitar playing and then we had the pleasure of listening to half of a young indie band. Really looking forward to hearing the complete band. And of course our entertaining regulars who never fail to impress me with their humorous song choices.

As it was the first Friday of the month the Whist Drive took place. Nice to see a few new faces, hope to see u all again next month.

The weekend just gone saw The Chequers host a fantastic bonfire and firework party on November 5th. Around 160 people came along, that's a record for an outdoor event at The Chequers. The farmers did us proud building a bonfire which looked bigger than a house!! Boys and their toys, say no more.......check out the photos. Big thanks to Mick Ellis, Charles Paynter and our health and safety expert Jim Timkey, without whom the event couldn't have taken place, cheers lads.

This Friday, (11th November) we've got Disco Dave on the decks spinning out tunes for all you budding/experienced singers. The Karaoke starts 8pm, if you come early you might have time for our Fryday meal deal - Fish & Chips for 2 & a bottle of Wine £20.00
