Visited for a walk with the dogs and spent a lovely couple of hours in the autumn sunshine. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly except for the cafe. Service was slow and two coffees and two pain au chocolat set me back an eye-watering £12.50 for indifferent coffee and undercooked pastry. The counter layout could be improved, too: the order and payment is taken first before the queue passes the cakes and biscuits (if there is a queue it is not always possible to see the selection of biscuits on offer) and finally the hot drinks. For some reason the card reader is in the corner next to the two display stands of biscuits with a gap between the shelves to allow the server access to the cake stands: every time a customer pays by card (and most people do these days) the server had to move one of the display stands to allow access to the cardreader and then move the stand back again in case she needed to serve a customer with a slice of cake. And thus the queue gets longer and longer . . .

For those of us sitting outside - dogs are not allowed in the cafe - trays would have been useful.

We will visit again, but next time we'll bring a picnic.

Four stars because the arboretum is beautiful and well maintained: I'd have given five stars if the cafe had been better.

The cafe is fine, nice food and drinks but....dogs not allowed inside although there is plenty of room and has an area that could be just for people with dogs. Not much fun sitting outside when it's cold and wet. Give it some thought PLEASE.

First ever visit. Disappointed. Dogs request to be on lead around the lake / cafe area. Well the ducks were kept very busy being chased ! The rockery by the cafe had clear signs requesting no climbing. Pity a parent was unable to read & his son had no respect ! Cup of chocolate advertised outside the cafe was priced at £3.70. There was a note saying see prices inside for updates. We were actually charged £4.10. ! We sat on a wooden bench outside the cafe only to find dog excrement ! Read reviews before visiting & looked forward to a 45 minute drive in a supposedly pleasant part of Walsall. We won't be visiting again.

Quite a big park that as a lake, you used to be able to take a hire boat out, but i think it's now been stopped. There is a cafe, but it's rather expensive and the food is not that good, also they are a bit slow in serving and getting food ready, but there are plenty of picnic tables if you bring your own food. The best part of this park is if you have a dog, as there is plenty of room for them to run about. And the parking is free.

Walsall Arboretum is on the edge of the town centre on the edge of the ring road. I found parking quite easily in a side street however there is a car park as well. It's a really lovely place to go for a walk and even though it was fairly early on a Sunday morning there were LOADS of people making use of the facilities of which there are plenty.

There are lots of wide paths to use as well as others. There is a small stream meandering through the park which flows into a lovely big lake where you can go fishing and also hire out boats at certain times.

There are plenty of places to sit and relax and there is also a cafe and a visitors centre which you can visit for more information about the park and the area.

It's a real oasis of nature with plenty of wildlife enjoying the area and when I was there lots of flowers were in bloom and there were lots of different trees with assorted colours of leaves.

There is a decent sized play area with a splash park open at certain times of the year. There are toilets here as well. Next to it is a small skate park for those who enjoy this sort of thing.

It's a really lovely place to visit and I never knew there was so much beauty in Walsall.

Luckily for me, I live very near to an entrance to the wilderness part of the Arboretum where it stops at the canal. It's like being in the country and you can walk, run or cycle through acres of space before you get to the Grange carpark, main area of the park.
Even walking through the park does not feel like Walsall.
It is wonderful most of the time. Only scummy people will detract your pleasure, from this Victorian Park.
They do not have the meticulously kept flowerbeds from my childhood, but considering how run down the rest of Walsall is, it's a relief from the litter, squalor and urban decay that has befallen the rest of this once proud, wealthy town.
There is now an open air gym facility as well as the older exercise area, the tennis courts I fo still use, I'm not sure if crown green bowls is still available and I haven't seen anyone rowing about on the lake either but Parkrun is still on every Saturday at 9.00am which again, I do utilize.
I would probably move away if it were not for the Arboretum.
Walsall has nothing else to offer anymore.
So yes the Arboretum is not only the Jewel in The Crown of Walsall. It is the only jewel.

It is the 2nd time I have been to the shop in Willenhall. And it is such a welcoming place to go, Paul was in and remembered me from months before. I was after a candle that wasn't available, Paul offered to make me one that would be ready in a few days, but he said he could do the room spray. PERFECT! I also picked up a mystery box and for the money it is well worth it, different products and smells to try. I think what Viki and Paul stand for and what they have accomplished it truly inspiring, and as for the products. They fill your home with amazing smells that last
