Excellent little gem of a museum right in the heart of Walsall. Free to enter. The staff were very helpful and we even made our own leather key rings to take away with us for 60p!
This museum gave us a real feel for what it must have been like to work in the leather industry and how important Walsall leather, and in particular the saddles were to the world.
Will take about an hour or so to wander around. Would highly recommend.

Very recommended for a quick nice stop!

Great museum for Walsall's local history and artisan work, and doing truly doing it's community a service.

Let's you make your own keychains for cheap, as well as offering workshops other leather craft items, with the help of some lovely artisans.

Very interesting history! Worth visiting for sure, especially for free.
For a small fee you can even create your own little leather keychain.
Lovely staff as well!

Super intresting museum about all things leatherworking in Walsall. We enjoyed our time, super friendly staff. Not exhaustingly long, which I really appriciated. At the end of the Museum they let you make your own custom leather tag for 60 pents (we were doing it with the lovely Ian M. Bott), and they sell a slue of lether items as well by the entrance.

It is free entry, as the lights get kept on by the people of the town. Theres a social space to hang out, and you can buy some refreshments, coffee or small snacks.

Apperently; the people of Walsall will often come just hang out in the social space, so if you want to meet some of the locals you might just get to sit down and have a chat with some! (If not the staff)

Appriciated my time, if you want to experience some local culture, definitly check out this place.

I had an amazing time today visiting the Leather Museum, the Staff was excellent super nice and genuinely super interested in what we had to say. We got to made our own specialized Leather Keyring, author Ian M Bott was there and helped us make our keyrings, he was extremely helpful and knowledgable and super fun to talk to. I strongly reccomend this location to anyone who comes accross it. The crazy part is that it is FREE!! I travelled from Sweden and I can definitely say that the time I spent there was worth the time on my trip.

Thank you for reading! /Elias, Sweden

We visited the Walsall leather museum today. It was very informative. There was such a large leather industry in this area. A really enjoyable afternoon with friendly staff.

I took a tour with my family of the leather museum and absolutely loved it! We are visiting from the states for two weeks, and the museum is the highlight of my children’s trip. We all watched various demonstrations and bought keychains as souvenirs, but my children got to try hand stitching. The staff is knowledgeable and very kind.

What a lovely museum! Really well curated with a genuinely interesting selection of artefacts, just enough explanation and lots of opportunities to touch things, listen to things even smell the leather items. We made our own leather key rings too! The staff were enthusiastic and knowledgeable and the shop was good too. A really unexpected treat. We go to lots of museums of this kind, but they’re not all as good as this one!
