this pub is a bit of a mixed bag,large and too bright inside,few more plants and paintings around these days so that does help with the atmosphere,good range of real ales to choose from in good condition to,but one big no no,on a saturday night was the whole length of the bar were people sitting on bar stools so it was difficult to get served or get any were near the bar ,most of these need to be moved on a busy saturday night,there was a man playing some live music on our visit which was enjoyable.

Myself and five others visited this pub by accident, what a great pub, there is so many choice for real ale, the pub is really great, clean, great atmosphere and really friendly staff.
They went out of there way giving samples of great beer for us to try.
Love this pub next time I am in Walsall I will go here and try the food

I love being fat shamed when I go out!! My husband I order a large brunch and a ploughman’s lunch, obviously the waitress upon seeing my bulk tries to give me the brunch, unfortunately it wasn’t for me but my husband-maybe ask and not presume
However my favourite part was when the waitress brought out my ploughman’s lunch whilst also carrying a dustpan and brush, I remarked that it’s not the best hygiene standard to do that-she was notplease about my observation
But it could have been a one off, so as my husband and I sat there eating off very chipped bowls and plates a man walks down the stair carrying 2 sanitary towel bins stopping chat to people as they eat
very Concerned with their standards and won’t be back

My husband and I recently held our daughter's Christening reception at The Black Country Arms. Our guests (many of whom were from Durham and so unfamiliar with this pub) absolutely loved the venue. We hired out the upstairs - free of charge - and Kim catered for us with a cold buffet at a very reasonable price. There was a great variety of different foods and there was plenty to go round. I would recommend this pub as a great place to hold a private function. The staff are friendly, the variety of beers is a great attraction, and the venue itself is welcoming.
