Mmm… Da Vinci’s. Okay, let’s do this! So, me and the family rolled into Da Vinci’s in Aldridge, ready for some serious grub. I was thinkin’ pizza, pasta, maybe a meatball the size of my head—y’know, the good stuff. And the food? It was… mmm… pretty decent! I’d give it a 6 outta 10, like a donut that’s fresh but not quite sprinkled. The flavors were there, but it wasn’t like, “Woo-hoo! I’m in flavor heaven!” More like, “Eh, this’ll do while I dream of Krusty Burgers.”
But the service? D’oh! What a disaster! Picture this: I’m chompin’ on my spaghetti, sauce all over my face, livin’ the dream, when the waiter—some grumpy guy who looked like he’d rather be watchin’ paint dry—says, “Yo, pass me your dirty plates.” Pass ‘em? What?! I’m tryin’ to enjoy my meat-a-balls here, and you want me to do your job? They couldn’t even be bothered to walk around the table! Lazy, I tell ya! Then—get this—they ask us to pass the cutlery too! No “please,” no “thank you,” just, “Gimme your forks, you’re harshin’ my vibe.” It was like we were crashin’ their private party or somethin’. I felt like saying, “Why don’t you pass me a million bucks while we’re at it?!”
The only bright spot—besides the food—was this one young fella. Nice kid, real polite, comes over and says, “Would you like another drink, sir?” Sir! I like that! Made me feel like Mayor Quimby for a second. So I ordered another Duff—er, I mean, soda. That guy was the only one who didn’t act like we were annoyin’ him just by existin’.
So, Da Vinci’s, here’s the deal: your food’s okay—tasty enough to keep me from starvin’—but your waiters need to chill out and maybe learn the word “please.” I ain’t askin’ for a parade, but c’mon, don’t make me feel like I’m cleanin’ up Moe’s Tavern for ya! Would I go back? Eh, maybe if I’m real hungry and the kid’s workin’ again.…

So it was a takeaway i had tonight, but having eaten in there before on many occasions i can vouch it is an excellent establishment. Tonight i ordered duck rolls, rack of lamb with mash and veg, the whole meal was faultless. Tasty, excellent value, everything was incredible. Highly recommend 👌

As someone that’s eaten all around the world, at some of the world’s best restaurants, at the price point Da Vinci’s is at, it’s up there with all of them!

Now I’m not saying it’s as good, I’m saying at the value you can get a fillet steak (fillet Neroi) in a fabulous sauce for £23.95 is outstanding value with excellent quality.

Where in a restaurant nowadays are you getting pasta dishes under a tenner?
I think I counted 15 pasta option under a tenner, even lobster ravioli was only 12-13 quid!

The wine list isn’t massive, but the most expensive bottle is a Rioja at only £25 that’s outstanding! The wine is priced fantastically and fairly,

We visited twice in the build up to Christmas then new year, both times were fantastic. The staff are extremely friendly without being overbearing, no rushing at all.

The menu is extensive, with antipasti starters, vegan and vegetarian, pizzas, fish, calzones, grills, chicken, risotto and much more, something for everyone.

Good selection of deserts, the profiteroles my wife had were excellent.

My pet peeve are toilets, downstairs yes, but spotlessly clean, very important.

Overall, by far the best non Indian (put them in a different category) in the area, the pubs local including Wetherspoons charge more than these guys for some of the menu and there’s no comparison! Absolutely five star for the price you pay, they also do a deal in the week I believe.

We had takeout and tbh wasn’t great, food not very warm. The spinach which used to be lovely was really bland, not creamy and nutmeggy like it used to be, it just tasted like boiled mush 😢 sadly now I’m not feeling well at all 😵‍💫 used to be lovely here, I know its not a traditional Italian here but it was always nice, it definitely wasn't what it used to be l, hoping it was just a one off 😢
