Have dined here several times before and was not impressed on this occasion. Our table was set for three more people than booked for – extra chairs and table settings were not good. Tables were literally crammed in – it was necessary to walk side-ways past other tables/diners, to get back to the table, with a plate full of food- not a good experience. Long queues for the carvery, snaking back into the only free space in the restaurant. Turkey portion was small, Yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets and stuffing balls were rationed to one per diner (I didn’t want any of these, but this policy came across as ‘penny pinching’). Mash looked awful, a big gloopy, grey mess. Plenty of choice of vegetables, but some were overdone (and I like my vegetables cooked, not crunchy). Gravy was exceptionally thick. So disappointing – felt like tables/diners were being wedged in. There were clearly insufficient waiting staff. Also shocked to discover that tips are not passed on to staff if paying by card (which is mandatory) – luckily we found this out before we made the card payment and found some cash for the tip.

Well what can I say apart from what a fantastic afternoon we had for my aunts birthday at calderfields for afternoon tea, she was very surprised bless her, food was beautiful tea coffee and of course Prosecco out this world fantastic selection of cakes and sandwiches with the most beautiful views of the golf course, and served by the most loveliest young man who was so polite and very attentive to our needs he couldn't do enough for us
We hope to return very soon but just wanted to thank you all for today please pass on our compliments to the young man can't remember his name but he's an absolute credit to the calderfields team

What a lovely place to celebrate my auntys 80th birthday. The staff were extremely helpful throughout the organisation of it. We would like to say a special Thankyou to Liam who was our host on the night who was very polite, pleasant and helped in whatever way possible. He was a wonderful host. The food was lovely and plentiful.
I would highly recommend calderfields for special events. We’ve had several there and never been disappointed.

Afternoon tea for a friends special birthday was superb. Carmel sorted out booking, answered all questions and amended booking due to unforeseen changes. Her help was top notch. Served by Chris on the day who was attentive and very helpful. great views of the golf, food, great selection. Of sandwiches and cakes, good selection of teas and very nice Prosecco plus bar for any other drinks the party needed. Would definitely recommend and will most definitely be going again.

Calderfields Ladies Open Day- Jul24
Fantastic day Adrian the Pro started the day off with a putting comp followed by Bacon Bap and a nice Coffee then it was game on fantastic parkland course well maintained especially given the 15hrs of rain prior to our game greens were amazing and true good signage around the course
Food and hospitality exceptional with a fully stocked pro shop which caters for ladies too well worth a visit

Great value for money! Booked 2 rounds of golf, 3 course evening meal, overnight stay and breakfast and it felt like the price only reflected the golf itself. Everything else was a bonus. Course in great condition and staff always on hand and happy to help. Managed to fit me and 3 friends in over an extremely busy weekend and provided great service.

As a former member I went along with two of my friends to their ladies open competition. Although we didn’t play our best golf we thoroughly enjoyed the course. We were all very impressed with the course conditions, the friendliness of the staff and food we had. We are very much considering an overnight stay and play in the autumn and look forward to next year’s open competition.

Stayed Friday to Sunday with 3 rounds and 2 nights dinner b and b. Staff at the venue could not have been more positive, making adjustments to meals and allowing an earlier tee time on the final morning. The course was in good condition, easy to walk and provided a challenge for single figure players and occasional golfers within our group. The 3 Par 5 holes are all interesting. Food was very good value and we will certainly be looking to rebook for 2025. Adrian, the Director of Golf was always around and was extremely helpful.

I come to calderfields most Sundays as my boyfriend has a golf membership with you. An all rounder lovely place from excellent golf course/ facilities and the best carvery we have ever had! We always recommend to friends and family. We have also attended weddings and events. Overall fantastic place lovely clean and friendly staff.

Chloe and Liam provided fantastic service in the evening. The staff were great and so helpful. Food was great value and delicious. Would highly recommend to any golf group wanting a getaway. The course is improving and the accommodation is comfortable. Clubhouse is great
