Surprisingly small restaurant, very friendly staff - you will have your photo taken for the Facebook page! Food was nice but not outstanding. They do a special offer on a Monday-Thursday which is a good deal and only charged us this even though we ordered outside of the deal.

We have been here a few times and the food has always been lovely and the staff pleasant and polite. When it is fully booked it can get a little claustrophobic in there due to it being quite small, but other than that it's a lovely place to go and celebrate only occasion.

I went to shimla last week with family as it is local to where I live. We were very impressed with our meals, which tasted fantastic and were served up nice and warm. It is very good value, staff are pleasant and attentive. I will definetely be going back again soon.

As always we enjoyed another meal out at the Shimla. Benn coming here for many years, and it always seems to deliver. Lovely meals and at a reasonable cost too. Cant wait to return very soon. Many thanks for a super night out, and a beautiful meal...enjoyed by us all.

We enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant, which is obviously popular with the locals for takeaway and eating in. Our food was fine, some of the curries were perhaps a little oily for our taste, but nicely flavoures; the naan breads were excellent. Portion size was a little small - one rice was really not enough for two.

A local favourite.
Our recommendations are the nargis kebab and speciality main dishes. All freshly prepared.
Always wise to book for busy weekend times.

Have to say, there are many other Indian restaurants in Aldridge Village. Although this is our local one, that is not the sole reason that we use the Shimla. Many other restaurants can't keep the consistency of food that the Shimla does. Most likely due to change of chefs. The Shimla has the same chef I knew of, for over 20 years ago. I know exactly what style of cooking to expect whenever we visit. It will taste as good as the last one.
We try to get down to the Shimla as often as we can. Very clean and bright looking restaurant and top quality food and friendly service. The midweek specials are extremely good value and if you so desire, you can take your own drinks.
I would highly recommend a visit.
Footnote: Sunday-Thursday special offer £10.90 papadom, any starter and any main. Very good deal indeed.
