I booked my car into the garage for them to check and give me a quote to repair. I was told it was a front wheel bearing so I gave them the go ahead to repair the car. When I collected and paid for the car, I was told that the problem had been resolved and it had been test driven however i soon noticed the problem was still there. I told them to look into it for me and to get in touch before any other repairs are made to the car but they did not. I had not heard anything from the garage for a whole week until Friday morning when I received a text to say the car had been repaired and was ready to collect even though I had clearly stated that I wanted to be contacted about the work that was needed to be done before it went ahead. When I went in to collect the car on the Friday morning they told me that the previous problem was with the other wheel bearing and so wanted me to pay an additional £225. When I complained about them not contacting me first like I had asked, the MD said that he would take the last new wheel bearing off and put the old one back on meaning that the car would still not be repaired and I would still have the same problem despite the money that I had already payed for it to be fixed. This seemed like a very unprofessional way to deal with their incompetence. He then offered a £60 discount on the additional cost of £225 that I was asked to pay despite the fact that I had never agreed to this payment or the repair to begin with. I do not care so much about the money but must express how appalled I am at the way in which this garage is ran and the terrible customer service that I have received from the MD. When I went to pick up my car I saw that it had been parked on a council car park rather than the private garage car park with the backdoor slightly open and my wheel locking key left out on the seat. In addition there was oil and grease all over the door sills which had not been bothered to be cleaned up. I have been a loyal customer to this garage for over 35 years, the mechanics there are second to none but due to the way the MD has dealt with this problem I will never use them again (to which he showed that he was not bothered about) and I strongly would advise against anybody else using them too.
