Hi, I don't normally write a review for golf courses, but only fair that I do this time. Reece and Ryan in the golf shop are so very helpful and friendly, they both provide a great service.
The course is in immaculate condition, they have changed the layout, which makes it even more interesting to play.
As for the golf buggies, they are simply the best, letting you know the distance left to the hole, not seen any other buggies round here that do that.

I came for the fishing after recently finding out they have a fishing lake amongst the golf course. I gave it 4 star purely based on the pegs could be better, the reeds/trees and bushes are a little overgrown which means you can only fish out in front of you and not in the margins. The fish are fantastic, great size, healthy and put up an awesome fight. I managed to catch 4 in the first 3 1/2 hours, but it slowed down massively after that with no further bites. My first was within 3 minutes of my first cast which took me by surprise. I'd definitely come back on a warmer day when the fish feed differently.

Went to excellent carvery two weeks running on a Sunday in lakeside restaurant. Excellent food and service. Staff efficient and friendly, catered for autistic son with no fuss. Highly recommend

Just spent 3 wonderful days here celebrating my best friends wedding anniversary
I've never felt more welcome and at home as I do here. This being my 2nd visit.
The Calderfield team are a credit to the owners and I'd 👍 like to make a special mention to Rachel, the events manager for a job well done.

In May 2026, Denver Barnett said about Owen Strickland Magic
We booked Owen for our wedding a few days ago and he was absolutely spectacular. When we met Owen my mum hated magic but she watched Owen and couldn't believe her eyes; she immediately told me we were unexpectedly having a magician at the wedding. Owen magic is like nothing I have seen before regardless of how closely you're watching you will still be absolutely blown away by the outcome that you least expected! I would recommend 100% having Owen to any function. All of my guests have sent me messages since saying how they couldn't believe their eyes!

A good tourist atrraction with good sites. I enjoy playing football in the park here. The toilets are not great, needs alot of improvement.
