Following a church wedding our granddaughter held her reception here. Excellent service provided by everyone, room was decorated lovely, food was great. the whole planning was very relaxed, the wedding advisor Alisha is lovely, and the general manager Richard is very helpful. All the staff are very helpful and professional. we stayed in one of the cabins for the night, and found them very well equipped .Breakfast the following morning had a very good selection of hot and cold dishes.

I arrived late during the week for an overnight business stay and reception was closed but the bar staff looked after me, which was fine. The rooms are wooden cabins but very comfortable and well fitted out and maintained. They are a bit of a trek from the club itself, so pack a brolly in case it rains for your walk back for breakfast. The surroundings are very tranquil and pleasant, so a big change from Walsall itself, which was the big reason to stay here.
Two things let down my stay, which was a shame because they are easily remedied. First, breakfast was awful. Looked great, but mushrooms and sausage were completely tasteless. Really surprising at a Golf Club where surely members and visiting golfers insist on higher standards for £79 a night. My advice is to skip breakfast and get it elsewhere. They also do not start serving it until 8am, which is often too late for business travellers, but is probably done to please the kitchen staff. Wrong priorities here! Checking out was an ordeal with credit card readers not working and took too long, particularly when breakfast is served so late. Hope someone from the Club reads this review and does something about the two points mentioned, because the accommodation is excellent and deserves better support from the kitchen and reception.

Stayed one night in cabin with view over golf course. Refreshments on offer in room but there was no hairdryer, even though this is listed as provided, which was a bit of a setback in getting ready! Staff were lovely and friendly, and reception service was very good. Only drawback was that as windows faced out onto the golf course (which is very scenic), there was a lack of privacy. I didn't have breakfast so unable to comment on service or standard. Overall, Calderfields offered good value for money and I would stay there again.

Booked as a last minute overnight golf break. Stayed in one of the wooden lodges which was adequate and clean, although a hairdryer would have been a welcome addition. The break included 2 rounds of golf for two people with bed, breakfast and an evening meal. Before booking I had looked online at the website to view the menu for the evening meal but on arrival at the hotel we had to choose from a set menu, which I wasn't very enamoured by. The girl at Reception said that was the only evening menu, the one on the website being for during the day, It would help if this was known before booking. Another couple were saying the same thing at breakfast. Having said that, the food for the evening meal was lovely and very well presented although the Tarte Au Citron had become a Lemon Meringue with no explanation! However breakfast was another matter. It was almost assumed that you'd stopped before and knew what was supposed to happen. You help yourself to cereals and toast etc. and choose your own cooked breakfast elements from a guy at the bar. When mine arrived, the tinned tomatoes were stone cold (having been nowhere near a heat source whatsoever) as was the bacon Luke warm and my other half's was the same. The waitress apologised but by then we'd had enough anyway.
With regard to the golf, the greens aren't top notch and I have never seen such narrow fairways with a lot of the time someone facing you where their ball had crossed onto your "lane" as it were. At one point on the course, 3 balls came over dangerously close (despite distorted shouts in the distance - think of the yell of a Newspaper Seller) but due to the trees and angles of the holes we had no idea where they'd come from and I doubt the "hitters" even knew where their balls had gone as no one came to look for them. OK for a one night stay.

A group of 9 of us came here for a Friday night dinner. Everything was spot on, service, bar and the meal. Prices were very reasonable considering the high standards they offer. Will visit here again. TV

If you want great food very friendly staff you can't beat calderfiel best by far the food choice is great and cooked really good that's Sunday . Also been to lost of evening avents which is also served with good food and great entertainment if you like a drink the chalets are a great place to book after a great night.

We were attending a family wedding holding the reception here. Rang to make booking. I didn't know there were cabins, assumed it was a hotel with rooms. Explained to receptionist we were a family of six. Three adults and three children. Asked for two rooms - one a double with an additional single, one with three single beds. Was assured this was fine, and I paid for the two rooms. On receiving booking confirmation via email, I was concerned to see the form said one double room and one twin room. I immediately emailed back to say I had said there were six of us and to say again the request for the rooms. The return email said this would be rectified immediately. On arriving at the hotel - with all six of us in reception, we were handed keys to the two rooms, we found one double and one twin. Rooms were too small to put in third beds! Went back to reception to be told the rooms only sleep two, and we should have bought cot beds for the children. The children are 10, 13, 14 and 22! At no point was I asked how old the children were and at no point was I told the rooms only sleep two. Luckily the receptionist found my email booking form and could see I had said there were six of us. They were able to give us the last cabin for accommodation and didn't charge us. Do the staff know what they are doing?

It has been 2 weeks since our wedding, Phil & I would like to say Thank You to all the staff in the preperation & service that Calderfields provided for us.The ceremony was in the Fountain suite with the lovely surroundings of the golf course. The food was of high standards & well presented for both the wedding breakfast & evening buffet. We would highly recommend Calderfields for any special event. A special Thank You to Dan Lowe

Four friends and myself stayed for 1 night, we booked the stay as we were on our way to The Belfry and needed a reasonable priced place to stay near to the Belfry. What an absolutely fantastic find was Calderfields Golf & country club, it was so good we wished we stayed longer. The place is immaculate, the accommodation superb and the staff and Manager are brilliant. We had our meal in the evening in their restaurant which was again excellent. After a quiet and comfortable nights sleep in their wonderful log cabins we made our way for breakfast again excellent. This place comes highly recommended, we will definitely stay again.

We had a group of 32 golfers of varying ability and i must say we had a fantastic weekend. Course was spot on, cabins were great,meals were great. And i must say that all the staff were fantastic, with a special mention to young Adam who was a star.
Would thoroughly recommend and will definately be back again.
