To celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary of my grandparents, we arranged a family meal at Calderfields on Sunday 29th April. Our booking was for 25 (18 adults, 4 children, 1 toddler and two young babies). We were seated on two large round tables which were pretty much in the main thoroughfare towards the cavery, and such was the size of the group that whenever guests at other tables wanted to get to the cavery, they had to push past our tables. Ordering food seemed lengthy and chaotic (bearing in mind that carvery was the only thing on so all the staff had to do was take orders for Starters and Desserts). The highchair we were given for our two year old had broken shoulder straps - when informed about this, the staff said they didn't have any others to give us.
But, the food: well, the starters were freshly prepared (choice of soup de jour, battered brie, prawn cocktail or chicken caesar salad). The carvery was as good as any other carvery I've been to, good choice of fresh veg, decent amounts of meat. Desserts too were good. The service from the staff was acceptable under the circumstances, but they could have done with having 3 or 4 more staff on as, surprise surprise, lunchtime is busy.

If the weather had been nicer we maybe could have made more use of the outside areas, but the conditions outside on the day affected things inside. It was an OK experience, but nothing special that we couldn't have gotten from a chain restaurant or a local independant gastropub.

I was very pleased with my experience at calderfields , its very family friendly, the staff are efficiente and organised in taking orders and called a table at a time to the carvery to avoid queing , for a table of 29 of us which 7 were children i apreciate it took a while for the starters to come out due too the amount of guest in my party and that we could see it was freshly made,the staff was very friendly with us, and starters and mains and deserts were very good ,everything was hot , the main meals wich was the carvery had a very good variety of meats and vegetables and they have a vegetarian option also ,they acomodated for my little son who doesnt like carvery and gave him a variety of choices wich was pizza and beans or chicken nuggets and chips or sausage and egg which pleased me a lot i was just a bit dissapointed with children running around next to the carvery but soon the person in charge had a word with them and they stoped which i dont blame the golf club but the parents ,the views are beautiful and all my guests comented how lovely the suroundings are and that the venue is the perfect place for a gathering or party ,will be definetly comming back

My golf Society stayed at Calderfields over the bank holiday weekend, a large society of x23, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the staff from the catering, bar management, cleaning, and not forgetting receptionists and golfing team all to be thoroughly curteous and did their jobs to a high standard.
Would I go again, most definitely.

Had my wedding at Calderfields Saturday 16th April.
From the very start all communication was brilliant and spot on.
Closer the date we had a couple of meetings to discuss timings etc and nothing was too much trouble.
On the actual day all staff were polite, friendly and willing to help our day be special.
The terrace overlooking the golf course was full of our guests as the sun was shining.
Can highly recommend the venue and most importantly Daisy was awesome and very good at her job.

Christmas Lunch food was great service was good staff were excellent very attentive considering the difficulties with COVID there was good choice on the carvery and it was all fresh food will definitely go again tables were laid beautifully.

Nice festive meal . Beautiful room . Enjoyable newyear. Would recommend and would definitely book again. Great atmosphere adults only night. Staff worked hard . Bar is a bit pricey but it was newyear and is a golf club.

I attended the New Years Eve event and had a fantastic time. The food was excellent quality and felt good value for money for what we paid with the live singer and DJ. I felt very safe and felt the COVID measures that were put in place on the night made everyone feel at ease. Will definitely be attending another event soon

We had a really good family Christmas Dinner.
Our food was pre booked and everything came out well prepared.

not quite sure what to expect being a golf club but was very nice the staff was very good and the food was well presented also very busy so you would need to book to be sure of a meal plenty of car parking
