
Walsall is gearing up for a heart-warming festive celebration as Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust hosts its Christmas Tree Lights Switch-On on Friday 5 December 2025. Taking place from 3pm in the Main Atrium, the event promises an afternoon filled with joy, community spirit and Christmas entertainment for visitors of all ages.
Organised in support of Well Wishers, the Trust’s charitable fund, the day includes a bustling festive market from 9am to 5pm, offering seasonal gifts and treats. A special Children’s Ward Extravaganza will also take place (invitation only), adding even more sparkle to the occasion.
The official programme begins at 3pm with a performance by the Great Barr Brass Band, setting the tone with classic Christmas melodies. At 3.30pm, the Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust Executive Team will deliver a warm welcome, followed by a performance at 3.35pm from Niamh Mulligan, the winner of Walsall’s Got Talent 2025.
At 3.40pm, the Mayor of Walsall, Councillor Louise Harrison, will offer thanks before leading the countdown to the eagerly awaited lights switch-on. This will be followed at 3.45pm by a touching Christmas Blessing from the Trust’s Chaplaincy Team.
The celebrations continue at 3.50pm when singing sensation Shannon Harvey invites everyone to join in a lively Christmas singalong, guaranteed to lift festive spirits. The event will draw to a close at 4pm.
With special guest appearances, family-friendly activities and the warm glow of the Christmas tree, this Walsall event is set to be a highlight of the local festive calendar. It's the perfect opportunity for the community to come together, support a great cause and celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season.
