Whether you’re looking to post an item, or receive it before 25 December; it’s important that you know your deadlines to avoid tears on Christmas morning - and to help, we've broken down the key dates for your diary below.
Royal Mail has officially published its recommended posting dates for Christmas 2017, and here are the dates in full:
Wednesday 20 December for 2nd Class delivery and Royal Mail Signed For 2nd Class.
Thursday 21 December for 1st Class, Royal Mail Signed For 1st Class and Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed.
Friday 22 December for Royal Mail Special Delivery Saturday Guaranteed.
The deadlines for couriers vary, so here are the key dates for your diary with some of the most popular firms:
Collect+ : This one's a lot more cautious than other couriers with Friday 15 December their cut off for economy delivery (3-5 working days) and Tuesday 19 their last date for standard delivery (2 working days).
DHL : This postal company has announced its last UK date as 21 December this year.
Hermes : Every parcel entering the Hermes network by 23.59 on Thursday 21st December, and bearing a UK mainland address, will have a least one delivery attempt made - otherwise Hermes will refund the delivery charge.
TNT : It's business as usual at TNT over Christmas apparently. Even a Saturday 23 option is available on the requisite service if sent on the 22.
Yodel : Wednesday 20 December for 72 hour delivery, Thursday 21 December for 48 hour delivery and Friday 22 December for 24 hour delivery.
