Join us for an informative foraging walk, where we will ID the various edible and poisonous plants and mushrooms we find. Enjoy a homemade refreshment along the way and a light 'Wild Food' lunch with us to round off the day.
We are very privileged to be running our foraging courses in the New Forest. It has a diverse and protected ecosystem, being one of the most important sites for fungi in Britain. There really aren’t many better places around to learn about the wonderful wild foods that are available in the UK throughout the year. The course begins at The Red Shoot with a short introduction to foraging, what we'll be hoping to spot and a brief of the general countryside codes. We’ll then set off for about 2.5 hrs around the forest, teaching you how to identify the different edible and poisonous plants and mushrooms that we find. We'll stop along the way for a seasonal homemade refreshment such as our lovely wild food soup, elderflower champagne or fruit leathers. Then it’s back to the Red Shoot for a wild food lunch based on what we have found. After the course, we will email you with notes of everything we spotted on the day to help you to remember what you learned.
There are limited spaces available so please book your tickets online.
