THE new St Ninian's Lower School was formally opened this afternoon by the Minister for Education and Children. Unveiling a plaque in front of an audience of 200 guests, staff and students, Tim Crookall MHK said the impressive new building at Bemahague had 'set news standards' for education in the Island and was 'already proving a real asset for the community'.

Conister Bank, Manx National Heritage (MNH), the Department of Education and Children and two professional animators teamed up to judge the 2013 ACE Card Design Competition this month. The judging also is timely with the completion of an animation project commissioned by Manx National Heritage to inspire students to engage with their heritage and encourage the use of their ACE cards.

Mosaic, a Christian women's group, have raised £6,937.65 to support the work of local charity Crossroads Care. Mosaic pledged to raise Crossroads funds at the group's annual conference in September 2011 and met their target through sponsored walks, coffee mornings and individual donations.
