National Parks Week is an annual event that aims to encourage people to visit a National Park to take in and enjoy the peace and quiet or to try an activity whether that be exploring nature, discovering the wildlife or appreciating the stunning views.

Cairngorms National Park is one of two National Parks in Scotland and is described as a “natural playground” due to the amount of activities you can take part in:

  • Cycling
  • Walking
  • Spotting Wildlife
  • Snowboarding and Skiing (five ski centres are located within the park)
  • Golfing (there are 12 golf courses!)
  • Bungee Jumping (home to the first permanent bridge based bungee jump)
  • Visiting the beach of Loch Morlich

An outstanding park that is meant to be enjoyed by everyone, Cairngorms is also home to a quarter of the UK’s rare and endangered species.

Now that the weather is nicer, there really is no better time to get out and explore this national treasure and take part in the array of activities on offer so please, celebrate National Parks Week and grab a taste of adventure.
