This week's newsletter from the Tewkesbury Chambers Of Commerce is centred around the great Tewkesbury logo, and the efforts being made to raise it's profile.

The secretary of the Chambers, Shelby Powell wrote:

Tewkesbury Logo gets a boost

The Tewkesbury Brand and logo are back in the news again!

I-Pod Competition

The winner of the i-pod competition was chosen by the Town Mayor, Councillor Philip Workman, after the Tewkesbury Festival of Lights event last Sunday.  We received so many useful suggestions as to how the logo could be used, that it was decided to place all the entrants into a draw to make the competition as fair as possible.

To see many of the suggestions and to become a fan of Tewkesbury on Facebook, please follow this link. Please keep sending in your ideas!

The winner is Pauline Woodend.  She will be receiving her prize this week.  Look out for a picture of Pauline receiving her prize in the local press.

Tewkesbury logo flies high

As part of a publicity stunt and to get the logo "off the ground " - approximately 100 Tewkesbury Logo balloons were released at the Tewkesbury Festival of Lights event last weekend during Father Christmas' light switch on outside the Town Hall.

Attached to a number of balloons were "magic" tickets inviting the winners to follow the instructions on the ticket to claim their "Tewkesbury prize".

More news on this story to follow shortly!

Website news

The Chamber is currently in talks with members, Trehane James and Debbie Taylor of The Best of Tewkesbury in respect of providing website space for the logo.  Further details on this initiative to follow in the New Year.

Funding boost

The Chamber has been contacted by Julie Wood, Head of Tourism, at Tewkesbury Borough Council with some fantastic news.  The Borough Council has decided not only to support the logo project, but will also be making a donation of £1,000 towards the project for which we are most grateful.

This is a fantastic boost and will enable the Chamber to kick start the project.  More funding is required, however, if the project is to be properly supported.

If you would like your company to be involved in the project or would like to make a financial contribution please contact  secretary@tewkesburychamber.org.uk
