ABC Day Nursery, which operates four outstanding nurseries in Hadley, Hollinswood, Lightmoor and Preston on the Weald Moors has been shortlisted for a Businesses for Children Award 2016.

It’s the third time the company, which is owned by Penny Hustwick and celebrates its 23rd anniversary this month, has been in the running for a BCA award.

At last year’s ceremony it was crowned Shropshire’s best business for children after scooping the top award as well as awards in two other categories - Supportive Business for Under Fives and Activities for Under Fives.

This year the nursery is up for the Shropshire Nursery/Pre-School award.

Mrs Hustwick said: “We are absolutely thrilled to make the shortlist for the third year running and we are already busy preparing for the judges visit.

“All the staff at ABC Day Nursery work extremely hard to provide quality childcare to more than 500 children and the success of each nursery is down to their dedication and commitment.

“We are looking forward to the ceremony and celebrating the achievements of so many wonderful Shropshire businesses.

“We are extremely lucky to have such a vast array of businesses which are dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people.”

A ceremony will be held on March 12 at the Park Inn Hotel in Telford to announce all the award winners.
