ABC Day Nursery owned by Penny Hustwick, has been shortlisted in two categories - Supportive Businesses for Under Fives and Businesses Providing Activities for Under Fives.

Mrs Hustwick said: “We are absolutely delighted to be announced as a finalist in not only one but two categories.

“All the staff at ABC Day Nursery work extremely hard to provide quality childcare to more than 600 young children and making the shortlist is down to their hard work and commitment.

“I’m very lucky to have such a dedicated team working at each nursery. They are all very passionate about their jobs and love what they do.

“It will be a nerve wracking wait until next month when the winners of each category will be announced.”

ABC Day Nursery, which scooped the award for best Educational Business for Under Fives at last year’s first BCA ceremony, will find out on March 14 at a ceremony at Telford’s Park Inn Hotel whether it has won.

The nursery, which is also sponsoring the The Green Apple Award, is among a number of Shropshire businesses providing education, support, products and activities for local children that have been shortlisted for one of 12 different awards.

“We are all very much looking forward to the ceremony. There are so many fabulous businesses in Shropshire working hard to cater for children and young people and it is great that this award ceremony recognises that hard work.”
