I could almost smell the sea at the 'Lure of Water' Exhibition on display at the Swindon Museum and Art Gallery in Bath Road. Fantastic features works by artists such as John Piper, Alfred Wallis and John Nash and guest artist Emma Stibbon were all on display.

Over 3000 visitors have admired the artists work since July. Some visitors have travelled as far away as Canada and America to admire the Swindon exhibition, which features a range of approaches to the depiction of water.

Many of the artists contrast the play of light on water with the solid structures of ships, habours and land masses. The spokewoman for the exhibition said that all the pieces demonstrated a fascination with water.

The 'Best of Swindon' loves the 'Lure of Water' exhibition. If you would like to visit the exhibition it runs until March and entry is Free. The Museum is open from 10am - 5pm Monday to Saturday. For more information call 01793 466556
