Our Place is a local community interest company which brings vital advice and support services to the Sutton Coldfield community by providing free or low cost room space and offices for small voluntary organisations.

These include Carers United, IAG Job Club which helps people who are trying to get back into work, Cherished Girls and ‘The Gap’ who work with young people. There is also a twice monthly Advice Café which provides free legal, financial and mental health advice to local people and a successful mentoring scheme that supports adults and children with social, emotional and mental health wellbeing.

The money was raised during 2017 through special events, including staff taking part in the Great Midlands Fun Run and a hugely successful Ascot Ladies’ Day lunch, which saw £5 of each ticket donated to the charity. Collection boxes were also placed throughout the hotel and donations were collected at various events.

Angela Burns, Chief Executive at Moor Hall Hotel & Spa, said: “We are delighted to have raised this money which will make a positive difference to many local people, we would also like to give a special thank you to our customers who donated generously to our fund during the year”

Kelly Round, Manager at Our Place Community Hub, said “We were thrilled to have been chosen to receive support from Moor Hall Hotel in 2017. The team have done a number of fantastic events to raise money and have promoted our services throughout their hotel. We are extremely grateful for their generous donation which will help us continue the delivery of our services in 2018”

The hotel’s fundraising efforts do not stop there as during 2018 the hotel will be supporting the Buddy Bag Foundation which was created in response to the rising number of children who enter emergency care after fleeing violent situations at home.
