James Cartlidge is standing as the Conservative candidate for South Suffolk

James Cartlidge lives in Assington near Sudbury and is honoured to be standing in his home constituency at the next general election. He understands that whilst South Suffolk is a beautiful, rural constituency with gorgeous countryside in abundance, there are challenges facing local communities. Whilst Babergh’s excellent free parking policy helps support trade in Sudbury, Hadleigh and elsewhere, congestion is a growing problem; out in the villages, an increasing number are becoming ‘rat-runs’ and speed-traps whilst broadband connections are improving but remain too slow for too many homes. In particular, as a parent with two children at a local school, James is keen to work with the County Council to build on recent signs of improvement in school standards. Overall, James is confident that with an optimistic ‘can do’ attitude, based on his his 10 year’s experience of running his own business, he can work with the various tiers of local government to improve the lives of South Suffolk residents
