Following last season’s astonishing performance of Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto no2, we welcome back Peter to perform the first concerto, complemented by one of Mozart’s earlier piano concertos. Tchaikovsky’s Andante Cantabile adds a gentler Russian flavour.
Tamsin has chosen the fiery, Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto for this concert. Considered unplayable when composed, this work is the perfect vehicle to display Tamsin’s extraordinary technical skill. Shostakovich’s suite continues our Shakespeare connection.
Our Georgian house and park will be transformed into the venue for a fabulous costumed Regency Ball. The evening will include drinks and a sumptuous buffet in our beautiful Robert Adam-designed Adam Hall and period dancing directed by dance caller Dr Garth Notley, with music by the Birmingham Baroque Collective. Alongside the dancing there will be a whole host of amusements including talks, tastings and Regency gaming.
