On Wednesday 25th February from 2.30pm-4pm, the team at Care UK’s Ladybrook Manor on Dairyground Road will be bringing the nostalgia of the roaring 20s to Bramhall for an afternoon of entertainment, history and laughter.
The event will kick off with a performance by the Stockport Jazz Band, who will play classics from the era to set the tone for the afternoon.
Guests will be able to take part in activity sessions with the residents, such as creating 1920s-style headpieces to take home and enjoying an interactive trivia quiz.
Visitors will also be treated to a themed lunch, which includes devilled eggs, chicken à la king and pineapple upside-down cake specially made by the home’s talented head chef, alongside a spread of party food.
Joy Fox, a resident at Ladybrook Manor, said “It’s rather special to be going back to the era I was born in. I’m very much looking forward to the day.”
The event is part of a series of themed quarterly events at the home designed to celebrate iconic eras throughout the ages.
Susan Cameron, Home Manager at Ladybrook Manor, said: “We’re so excited to be launching our ‘Eras Tour’ series by stepping back into the golden age of the 1920s. We can’t wait to see residents and the community join us for what promises to be a day full of fun and laughter.
”It’s important for us to continue creating special memories and meaningful moments for residents, supporting them to lead fulfilling lives. Hosting events like this is just one of the ways we do that.
”A big thank you to the team, who have gone above and beyond in preparing for the day. We’d love for the people of Stockport to join us and dress in their best ‘20s outfits – it’s set to be an event not to be missed!”
