HELP make your town or village a better place to live.
Lincolnshire Police is calling for community-spirited people to become special constables.

There's a series of open days planned to show potential volunteers what the job involves and giving
them a chance to talk to serving specials about their personal experiences.

Stamford's open day is planned for 10am on Saturday September 5, and there'll also be recruitment days in Spalding and Grantham.

If you join up you'll undertake a 16-week training course at police headquarters in Nettleham just outside Lincoln. It runs over eight alternate weekends for a 16-week period.

All your travel costs for the course are covered, and there's overnight accommodation if you need it.

After you've completed your training you'll have full police powers and can take part in a wide range of police work.

The minimum work requirement per month is 16 hours, with all uniform and equipment is paid for except boots.

If you're over 18 you are able to apply.

What's in it for you? They say that the rewards are priceless. You can develop leadership, communication and negotiation skills from the training, and have a positive impact on community safety and crime reduction in yoru area.

If you want to attend the open day or course, call the police on 01522 558235 or e-mail your details to recruitment@lincs.pnn. police.uk.
