A Driver had to be cut free from a car after a crash on Monday on the A47 nr Ailsworth. A black Renault Megane ended up in a field, on its side.

Fire crews from Stanground and Dogsthorpe attended and cut a casualty free - a 56-year-old man was taken to Peterborough District Hospital with injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
Also on Monday was a crash involving a red van and a lorry on the A606 between Oakham and Stamford. From eyewitnesses, it appears that the Lorry Driver escaped unhurt but the van driver was trapped in his vehicle when it burst into flames. Emergency services arrived too late to help him, although the road was closed by emergency vehicles at around 5.30. No other details are available yet.
