Bridge lifting takes place at Carpenter's Lodge

The A1 between the A47 Wansford turn and the A43 Stamford junction will be closed in both directions between 6pm on Saturday 30th August and 12 midday on Sunday 31st August. During this time the 650 tonne bridge deck necessary for the junction improvement scheme will be lifted into place at Carpenter's Lodge roundabout.

Diversions will be in place via the A47 and the A43.

A special vehicle will be used to move and lift the bridge deck into position onto the bridge supports which have been constructed and prepared. Works have been going on for some time now at the roundabout, and this will give people a better idea of how the finished plan will look.
