SKDC Chief Exec Quits Suddenly

Duncan Kerry, SKDC's chief executive left the authority on Monday (6th April).
The news followed a council meeting which was held in camera on Monday afternoon.

Mr Kerr spent five months last year on a fundraising bike ride and is reported as saying that he's going to take his life in a new direction after five years at the authority. He has worked for five different councils during the past 30 years, and now wants to use the experience he's gained in another way. He said that it has been a privelege to pay such a pivotal role int he community's development.

Beverly Agass, the strategic director, has been appointed chief executive in the interim.

Mr Kerr said: "It has been a privilege to play such a pivotal role in the development of our communities.
