Overhaul for Daniels after relegation

Dougie Keast thinks that the Daniels relegation from the UniBond Premier Division could help his plans to bring new players to the Vic Couzens stadium, as he plans a major overhaul for the team, who will be playin in the UniBond Division One South next season.

With seven players following Graham Drury to Corby Town, Keast had just the bare bones of a team when he took over at the end of January. Now that the team will travel less due to the relegation, he s hoping that the new blood he s been trying to attract will be easier to find.

His prime target is to get back into the premier division, but Retford United, last season s champions could pose the biggest threat of a fast promotion. Retford only failed promotion because their ground didn t meet Premier Division conditions despite winning Division One South by 13 points.

On July 29th, The Daniels will host Conference North side Gainsborough Trinity in the quarter-finals of the Lincolnshire Senior Shield, whose winners will face Grantham or Brigg Town in the semi final on August 9th.

The lineup for UniBond Division One South is

Belper Town, Brigg Town, Carlton Town, Glapwell, Goole, Grantham Town, Gresley Rovers, Kidsgrove Athletic, Leek Town, Lincoln United, Loughborough Dynamo, Quorn, Retford United, Rushall Olympic, Sheffield, Shepshed Dynamo, Spalding United, Stamford, Stocksbridge PS, Willenhall Town.
