More Misery at Carpenter's Lodge
17th November 2008
... Comments

I hear that traffic's been at a standstill again this morning due to the roadworks at Carpenter's Lodge Roundabout. Fortunately I only heard about it on radio2, but it has been pretty bad lately, making my journey to work at least 15 minutes longer than usual - and that's on a good day.
Single lanes are in order now until Saturday so no abatement to the misery. Then from Sunday, November 23 to Saturday December 6 there's a contraflow on the northbound carriageway and a southbound contraflow from Saturday December 7 to Saturday December 20.
From 8pm on December 6th (Saturday) the A1 will be completely closed in both directions between the Wansford junctions with the A47 and the A43 near Stamford until 6am the next day and again at the same times on Saturday, December 20to the next morning.
The roadworks are to allow the installation of a flyover at the Carpenter's Lodge junction to replace the roundabout.
I'm off to New Zealand on the 18th December, so with any luck it'll be finished when I get back. The sooner the better I say!
