Has anyone visited TD's yet?
by Diane Whitfield

TD's is the new French patisserie and tea/coffee shop in Stamford, situated in Broad Street. It's got great decor and a superb array of pastries. I popped in there the other day with my daughter, and we enjoyed some typical French pastries, a delicious decaffeinated coffee for me and tea for my daughter. With a relaxed ambience, typically French decor and soothing music, it's a great place to wind down, or meet for tea , coffee, snacks or lunch.
On the way out I bought a gigantic meringue to enjoy at home, but really we were spoiled for choice. There were flavours of meringue that I had never imagined, I chose pistachio, and very nice it was too.
Thierry Daugeron and Interior Designer Christophe Baudoin own the luxury giftware shop and stationers Plume as well as TD's. Thierry has just won the Mercury Business Personality award for 2008 and is also an events and party organiser and outside caterer. He doesn't seem to find that enough though, as he's also planning a cookbook with a local chef as well as a travel cookery show! And in addition to all of that, he's planning to share some recipes exclusively online with The Best of Stamford.
Currently I hear that TD's are waiting for a premises licence, when they'll extend their opening hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings for pre dinner drinks and canapés up to 8.30pm
