Lincolnshire creamy asparagus and the best tasting strawberries.
I called in to see Chris Parsons last week at the Grange Farm Shop on Newstead Lane. As always he has a great range of locally produced fruit and vegetables. You can't beat fresh seasonal produce for simple tasty food. I purchased some Lincolnshire asparagus and english strawberries, and when checking out his fridge couldn't resist the temptation of spring onions. This was just what we needed to complement the fresh salmon that evening.
The asparagus made a great starter. Simmered for 7 minutes, beautifully tender and creamy, a wholesome start to an english country supper. The spring onions gave that little additional bite to the salad that accompanied our lightly grilled salmon. The sweet and tasty strawberries finished off this nutritious meal.
