Celebrity Guests at Local MP's Civil Partnership Ceremony

The 200 guests at Alan Duncan's civil partnership ceremony included Carol Thatcher and William Hague. The Rutland and Melton MP Alan Duncan tied the knot with partner James Dunseath at Marylebone Registry Office last Thursday. The MP romantically proposed to his partner on Valentines Day this year. Oakham Town Councillor Jim Harrison was the official photographer for both the engagement and the reception, which was held at Merchant Taylor's Hall, in London's Threadneedle Street on Friday.

Former Tory leader and Shadow Foreign Secretary, William Hague - former flatmat of Alan Duncan's - delivered one of the speeches and other guests included Rutland County Councillor Ken Bool and family, George Osborne the Shadow Chancellor , Carol Thatcher, and former Chancellor of the Exchequer, Norman Lamont.

The happy couple are spending a short honeymoon in Scotland.

Whilst I'm sure we all wish Mr Duncan and his spouse future happiness, whatever our political inclinations, wouldn't it have been nice if he'd decided to hold his celebration in his constituency?
