St Neots Players Present Blackadder at The Priory Centre
Anyone who saw The St. Neots Players previous stage adaptations of the popular television sit-coms ‘Dad’s Army’ and ‘The Vicar of Dibley’ will know that our local theatre group are very good indeed at bringing the small screen to the big stage and ‘Blackadder’ promises to be no exception.
The show, originally starring Rowan Atkinson, is made up with three episodes from series two, set in the Elizabethan era, all using the original television scripts written by Richard Curtis and Ben Elton.
Thursday 17th May start at 7.30pm
Friday 18th May start at 7.30pm
Saturday 19h May start at 2.30pm and 2nd show at 7.30pm
Director, Ian Francis said, “As a huge fan of all four Blackadder series myself, I’m very excited to be directing The St. Neots Players adaptation. You know it’s going to be a funny show when all the cast are still laughing at the gags even after hearing them for the umpteenth time – we’ve even had to adapt a scene or two to have the actors not look at each other otherwise they just could not keep a straight face!”
