St Neots Fashion Show a resounding success!

On Wednesday 24th October 2012 High Street retailers from St Neots came together for the town’s first charity fashion.

The event, held at the Priory Centre, was attended by more than 200 people. Featuring two 30 minute fashion shows the event showcased autumn and winter collections from Beales, Beautiful Swagger, Bon Marche, Chanceuse Lingerie, Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Goldstraw Goldsmiths, M&Co, New Look, Scope, Specsavers and Wallis.

The stunning hair and make-up looks were created by Benefit, Estee Lauder, Molbys and Saints.

In addition to the fashion show many retailers had promotional stalls at the event, so guests spent the evening browsing and sampling make-up looks from Benefit and Estee Lauder as well as collecting goody bags and money off vouchers.

The whole show was hosted by Mark Hansard and Pete Revell, presenters from St Neots community station, Black Cat Radio.

Sound and Light Partnership generously provided the sound and lighting for the event and staff from all participating retail stores gave up their time towards the day to create the looks and help behind the scenes; volunteers also modelled the collections for the runway shows.

We are delighted to announce £1,673.96 was raised through the tickets sales and raffle donations. The money will be split equally between Cancer Research UK and Mayor of St Neots chosen charities – Alzheimer’s UK – St Neots Memory Pot Cafe, Sue Ryder (St John’s Hospice) and St Neots Air Training Cadets.

Katie Williams, Town Centre Manager, St Neots Town Council said: “The Fashion Show was a huge success and we are overwhelmed by the amount that has been raised for the charities. I would like to take this opportunity to thank those that supported the show so generously with their time and money.

The event showcased the wonderful products you can buy in St Neots and I hope its success will encourage more people to shop locally.”

Cllr Barry Chapman, Mayor of St Neots said: “A wonderful evening of fun & fashion enjoyed by hundreds of people showcasing our local retailers. Fantastic prizes, free goody bags and much raised for charities.

A brilliant reminder of what is available in St Neots and why we should all shop locally'
