A competent performance from the team in their final race saw them lift the event's coveted Milton Keynes' cow statue for the 400m Major Plate, dispatching 3 of their rivals in the process.
The crew followed up this success the next day by honouring an invitation to compete in the Annual Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in London's Albert Docks and simultaneously hosting the GB Senior training squad back at their St Neots Rowing Club base.
The 16 strong crew delegation returned from the London celebrations with a creditable 11th place finish out of 36 participating crews.The GB seniors yet again enjoying the hospitality of the town that is fast becoming their favourite base location.
Karina Whittington, one of the crew debutants who attended both race day events enthused, 'I've had the most amazing weekend! I thought I was too old to participate in national league sports, but I was wrong, St Neots Dragon Boat Team have welcomed me aboard with open arms and I can safely say I am hooked!'
Sunday 6th July sees St Neots Dragon Boat team hosting the best club crews from Britain in the BDA's 5th event of the league calendar on the Regatta Meadow.
