Local community backs 2015 St Neots Community and Business Awards

New call for entries with nominations closing in less than four weeks

The St Neots Awards project team is calling on the St Neots community to nominate award worthy individuals, groups and businesses in the town, before the campaign closes in less than four weeks’ time, on Friday 20th March

The 2015 St Neots Community & Business Awards is a new programme designed to reward the successes of individuals and community groups, highlight local sporting excellence and to showcase business excellence within the town.

In less than four weeks’ time, the nominations received will be judged to determine the overall winner in each category.

The campaign has already led to a large number of nominations; demonstrating the incredible achievements of those who live and work in the town. However, potential award worthy candidates will miss out if they do not receive an official nomination.

Reiterating today’s renewed call, Town Clerk at St Neots Town Council Ed Reilly said: “If there’s an individual, group or business that should be recognised for their local achievements, we need to hear from you. We are delighted with the interest the awards campaign has had across the town so far but we know that there are many more local examples that have not yet been put forward that could also be recognised for their achievements.”

Nominations or applications need to be submitted on a simple A4 entry form either electronically or on paper to St Neots Town Council by 5pm on Friday 20th March 2015.  Entries will be reviewed by an independent judging panel, led by St Neots Mayor Andrew Hansard, with a celebratory awards ceremony scheduled for Saturday 25th April 2015.

The awards have been backed by a number of local businesses working in and around St Neots - Adlams Solicitors, Barretts department store, Beacon Wealth Management, Bosch Rexroth, bpha, Giggs and Co, Lilac James, Realfit Conditioning and Education, The Best of St Neots and Vital Sign Designs.

This new civic awards programme, presented by St Neots Town Council, is also supported by a number of key community stakeholders - AboutMyAreaPE19, Eynesbury Village Association, Love’s Farm Community Association, The Eatons Community Association and Think Local Magazine.

More information is available from the programme website www.stneotsawards.co.uk. Marketing promotions are taking place across the town, as well as online at www.twitter.com/stneotsawards and www.facebook.com/StNeotsAwards
