Rochford and Castle Point Ramblers Association
Rochford and Castle Point Ramblers Association

We are a friendly, informal group established in 1994 with approximately 250 members. The area we cover surrounds Southend-on-Sea in south-east Essex and includes the Rochford and Castle Point districts, the Roach and Crouch estuaries and creeks with lengthy sea wall paths amid the abundant wildlife of the marshes. In the west of our area we have Thundersley and Benfleet with a variety of woodland areas and Hadleigh Castle Country Park, the castle made famous by John Constable. We extend in the south down to Canvey Island in the Thames estuary, in the east to Great Wakering and in the north to Rayleigh. Although the area is largely flat we nevertheless have some diverse scenery for the walker to enjoy..\r
