Excitement is building at a care home in Sway as it prepares to open its doors for a day of football-themed festivities.   Care UK’s Sway Place, on Church Lane, is inviting people to cheer on their nation ahead of a huge summer of sport by joining residents and team members for a very special event on Friday 19th June from 2pm–4pm.   Attendees will be able to take part in a ‘hit the target’ game and a penalty shootout competition against the residents and care team.   A sweepstake, live music and pub snacks will also be on offer to add to the atmosphere of the afternoon.   Resident John Morton, aged 83, said: “As a proud Scot, I’m really looking forward to cheering on Scotland. Scottish football has such a rich history, and it brings back fond memories of watching matches and celebrating with family and friends. It will be lovely to share those memories and enjoy the atmosphere with everyone at Sway Place.”   The event is part of Care UK’s ‘Goal-den Moments' initiative, which aims to bring generations together and help residents reminisce about cherished football memories with the local community.   Francis Bosompim, Home Manager at Sway Place, said: “As football fever sweeps the country, we can’t wait to welcome the community for some matchday magic.   “This special event allows us to honour residents’ lifelong passion for the sport.
