First Aid Training - Southampton

Whiteley Community Responders

We provide First Aid Training

to help you become a Community Responder

in Southampton

Working with the Hampshire Ambulance Service we are a group of volunteers who live or work in the Whiteley community and help by providing an early response in the provision of primary life saving support to people who have called 999 and requested an ambulance.

In most cases the Community First Responders will be on scene within 3-5 minutes and treating the casualty. If the incident is considered to be Life Threatening this early attendance could literally mean the difference between life and death for the casualty especially when the casualty has suffered a heart attack and requires immediate defibrillation.

MEMBERS NEEDED!

We are a local Voluntary Southampton group given First Aid Training by the Hampshire Ambulance Service to respond to Emergency Calls in your local Southampton area to provide immediate Emergency Medical First Aid care until the Ambulance Arrives.

A Community Responder must be over 18, physically fit and able to donate some time for First Aid Training and on call duties as well as on going First Aid Training.

Should you wish to contact the team or desire any further information regarding the team or first aid training and becoming a Community First Responder in the Whiteley area of Southampton, you can contact Dave Crowther, team coordinator on
