A Shropshire law firm has expanded its commercial property division with the addition of a new lawyer.
Sarah Cox, who qualified as a solicitor in Shropshire in 2007, joins Andrew Evans and Cindy Wright at the Shrewsbury office of Lanyon Bowdler.
Having worked for Howell Jones Solicitors in Kingston upon Thames for the last three years Sarah, who specialises in landlord and tenant law, freehold acquisitions and commercial refinancing, said it was fantastic to return to her roots and the town where she started her career.
“I’m settling in really well and enjoying being back in Shropshire,” she said. “It’s good to be closer to family and friends.
“Shrewsbury is a lovely town. I know it well as I went to school here, trained here and worked here for several years before moving south.
“The commercial property market in Shropshire is very positive with developers actively seeking new land for development, as well as businesses expanding and taking on new projects, so it is an ideal time to come back to the area.
“I’m also looking forward to assisting agricultural clients with their property interests as the sector continues to strengthen and diversify.”
Andrew Evans, head of commercial and agricultural property and senior partner at the firm, said: “We are delighted that Sarah has joined the team following an increase of more than 20 per cent in commercial and agricultural property work last year.
“Sarah is an experienced and capable solicitor who will undoubtedly be a great asset to the firm.”
Lanyon Bowdler is one of the largest legal firms in Shropshire and Herefordshire employing 200 people and 22 partners at offices in Telford, Oswestry, Ludlow and Hereford.
