A Shrewsbury dental practice set up just over a year ago has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious national Dental Awards 2014.

Selected from a huge number of UK-wide entries, Esthetique Dental in Hadnall was one of just nine practices shortlisted for the Practice Design and Interior Award by a judging panel consisting of practitioners and members of various leading dental professional associations.

Deb Price, a director of Esthetique Dental, said: “To be a finalist for such a prestigious award so soon after starting up the practice is a tremendous honour. More importantly it is a fitting tribute to the vision of our clinical director, Dr Thomas Norlin.

“The design brief for Esthetique Dental centred on achieving clinical excellence that would ensure patients received the best possible treatment outcome and a well informed and thorough dental experience combined with outstanding customer service.

“The result is a minimalistic, clutter free environment that incorporates the latest technology that enables our dentists to communicate with and involve patients in their treatment planning. This includes having television monitors and Ipads in each treatment room so that the dentists can convey x-rays and information slides to their patients.”

Now in its 16th year the national Dental Awards showcases the best in the dental profession and recognises their achievements. The ultimate winner of the Practice Design and Interior Award will be judged to be the best overall facility as evidenced by functional design, efficient interior space planning and appropriate integration of dental equipment and technology.

Commenting on this year’s finalists, Carly Wood, Chair of the judging panel and editor of ‘The Probe’, said: “Year on year the standard of entries gets higher and higher, and this year was no different. We’ve received a record number of entries, so being selected as a finalist is an immense achievement. The judges had a tough task to complete, but it’s fantastic to know that there are so many dental professionals providing the best clinical care and patient service possible.”
