On Sunday 9 November, Whitworth residents young and old gathered to remember those lost and injured during times of conflict and, this year, to commemorate the outbreak of the First World War.
LIGHTS OUT is a UK-wide invitation to everyone to turn off their lights from 10pm to 11pm on Monday 4 August, leaving on a single light or candle for a shared moment of reflection marking exactly one hundred years since the outbreak of World War One. This event will be taking place in Rossendale.
