On Friday 7th August from 1pm–3pm, Care UK’s Foxbridge House will open its doors to families and neighbours for a free food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection. 

Visitors to the Sevenoaks Roadhome can look forward to sampling the residents’ favourite recipes – following a voting process that began in June. Residents submitted their top dishesand then the head chef cooked the three that received the most votes, making sure they passed the taste test. 

Guests will also be invited to tap their feet away to a variety of music. 

Resident Cath Beaman, 98, said: “The event will be lovely! I'm looking forward to tasting foods from different cultures, and maybe someone will be serving up my favourite recipe as a child - rice pudding!" 

The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which willseeCare UK homes across the countryhost foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like. 

Each festival will offer sustainable, community-focused activities while championing the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
