Rochdale is home to countless shops that sell countless magazines everyday.

In my opinion, magazines are great, they are full of a range of things written by a variety of authors. Magazines offer us the views of a range of people talking about so many different things. Unlike newspapers they offer us reading material that appeals to us without being as lengthy as books. Magazines consist of informative articles, short stories, tips and tricks, how to article, fascinating (often comic) news, many include jokes, photographs and poetr and some also have local guides and agony aunt sections. All this and much more is what appeals to most magazine readers.

A lot of magazines have become interactive as a means to increase readership, this includes competitions, advice hotlines, subscription awards, question and answers and letters to editors. Most magazine readers pick topics of interest and buy or subscribe to magazines that revolve around those particular subjects whilst others pick up what's popular or about the local area. like Rochdale is sure to have magazines talking about its historical sites or Rochdale in general; its businesses, people events and so on.

Although the print versions are facing are hard time now that everything being available online, but I as a writer do feel that there is something special about reading and writing in print. Even with the decrease in print sales you can't walk far in Rochdale without seeing someone or the other holding or reading a magazine.

Let's not forget a rather appealing magazine factor: Their super light weight and foldability makes them ultra portable and perfect for rolling up and swatting flies!
