  • If you are having a bonfire in your back garden please chaeck for wildlife that may have hidden before you light it.
  • Let an organised group do the fireworks, they are dangerous, they travel fast and they need to be set up properly so they don't fall over and injure someone in the crowd.
  • Do not throw fireworks, you will be fined if you are caught.
  • If you have your own fireworks make sure it is stood the right way up, use the stand provided if it needs one warn people it is about to be lit, walk away once it is lit and don't go back.
  • Have a bucket of water available for emergencies.
  • Clear up after all the fire works have been lit, they may still be hot and dangerous.
  • Pets don't understand fireworks and all the fuss but they know it's coming.
  • Walk dogs before it gets dark,
  • Close the doors and windows
  • Put the televison or radio on loud to distract from the noise if your pet does hide let them, it will cause more anxiety trying to get them to come out of their hiding place.
  • Make sure they are microchipped in case they do get out of the house and run away.
  • See your vet if your pet has suffered unnecessarily before, they will be able to help.
  • Stay warm If you have health problems e.g. asthma make sure you take all the precautions to stay healthy.
