Car Boots in Rochdale

Last year I made £100 selling stuff I didn't want at Bowlee Car Boot. It was my first car boot and I learned a lot about being a car booter. Here are a few of my tips so you can enjoy making some extra cash.

1. arrive early, Bowlee car Boot opens at 6am for sellers but there will already be a long queue if you wait till then , it's a big field though so plenty of room .

2. Take a flask and food, There is a burger van but you won't want to leave your stall.

3. Make people wait whilst you get set up if you need to. people were trying to rummage in my car before I'd even got out of it.

4. Take plenty of carrier bags and small change, it will encourage people to buy.

5. price your items right, I would rather sell for 50p or £1 than not sell at all. Last year I put a sign up saying all clothes 50p , they were gone in 1/2 an hour

6. Dress for the weather , it's forecast showers in Rochdale this weekend. you will be miserable if you are cold.

7. Take a seat, You will want to sit down at some point.

8. Display your goods on a table, hang clothes on a rail, they are not expensive and people love rummaging through.

9. Keep safe, make sure you keep your money on you at all times and you can see your stuff, especially the more valuable, unfortunately some people will steal from even a car boot sale!

10. Enjoy yourself.
