To celebrate the centre is organising events to be held on 10th May 2014 which will involve members who use the hall and those who visit.

We are preparing for a performance at the 10th anniversary celebrations at Butterworth Hall to be held on 10th May between 2.00pm and 4.30pm

The success of the centre has been overseen by the members of the management committee. We took it over from Rochdale Council and have maintained it as a self-supporting and self- financing centre for 10 years.

We offer a variety of activities for all age groups from toddlers to senior citizens. There are drama classes, dance classes and dance sessions, Zumba, tai chi, weight watchers, art classes, twice a week, it is the rehearsal venue for MADS, childrens’ parties, councillors surgeries, brownies, Rochdale centre for dementia patients and their carers.

The anniversary will be celebrated by all groups and one of the main highlights will be the planting of a new mulberry tree, to be performed by the mayor of Rochdale. The tree has been the emblem of the Centre since the beginning but unfortunately the original tree was vandalised and didn’t survive.

Also we are welcoming representatives from Incredible Edible who are planning to use the land around the centre to grow a variety of fruits and vegetables for the benefit of the local people.
